Dashboards and product interfaces are judged in seconds. The first screen has to answer the question the user opened it with, and every screen after that has to make the next action obvious.

I design from the task outward: who is using the product, what they need to know or do, and . Then I build the navigation, states and patterns to support it, including the empty, loading and error states that make a product feel finished.

The few numbers or states that let a user trust the product without digging. They decide what goes at the top of the first screen.

A good fit if

  • You are building or redesigning a SaaS product, customer portal or analytics dashboard.
  • Users have to monitor, review or decide on a lot of information quickly.
  • The product works but is hard to learn, or each new feature makes it more confusing.
  • You need a design system so the product stays consistent as it grows.

What you get

User journeys and flows
The tasks that matter, mapped from first screen to finished outcome.
Navigation and information architecture
A structure that matches how people think about the product, not how it is built.
Screen designs for key tasks
Dashboards, tables, forms and detail views, designed for real data and long labels.
Clickable prototype
The key flows, so they can be tested before anything is built.
Design system and states
Components with default, empty, loading and error states, plus light and dark themes where needed.
Specs and assets for developers
Everything an engineering team needs to build it faithfully.

How it runs

  1. 01Understand

Users, tasks, the data available and what a good outcome looks like.

  2. 02Structure

Flows, navigation and the hierarchy of each key screen.

  3. 03Design

Interface, components and states, reviewed against real content.

  4. 04Prepare

Prototype, specs and assets for the team building it.

Questions

How does a project start?

Send a short brief through the contact form, or book a call if you would rather talk it through. I will reply with questions or a proposed next step.

Can Guppie Labs improve an existing website or product?

Yes. Existing websites, products and workflows can be reviewed and restructured. The work focuses on the highest-impact problems in clarity, navigation, usability, responsive behaviour and maintainability. See reviews and redesigns.

How long does a project take?

It depends on the scope. A timeline is part of the written scope you receive before any work starts, so you know what to expect and when.
